THE SLAVIC SENSIBILITY OF ALEXANDER BOGUSLAWSKI

All my paintings are fairy tales of sorts... and my imagination, in creating these imaginary landscapes and places, has been profoundly affected by Byzantine and Russian paintings, folk art, medieval manuscripts and illuminations, naive art, and some great painters: Breugel, Bosch, Generalic, Arcimboldo, Kaspar David Friedrich, Gorgio de Chirico, Henri Rousseau, and probably countless others... If my mind is a boiling pot, all of these elements simmer there together and the result is... what you see.
